I was really fascinated with the parallels between Jimmy and Castiel's lives during the fic, specifically the parallels between their friends, Alex and Anna, and how they committed suicide. I sort of had that echo here, with Jimmy making the "cut your throat" sign and Castiel with grace in his hand.

I had originally drawn the picture on paper with graphite and ink, fucked up the inking and redid the whole thing with the graphite image as an underdrawing for when I redid the lineart on PaintTool Sai. The shading and the light coloring took a while for me to come up with, because the title was hard to see if it was too dark, solid colors and shading didn't feel right, and hatching and crosshatching for color was too much in places. So this was a giant compromise
